Copycat Idea: Community Partners

You can copycat this great idea! The Kaua`i Humane Society is using a great idea to get their adoptable pets seen more in their local community: Supplying local businesses with adoption flyers to hand out with purchases and to-go orders! You can use the Adopt a Pet Print Center to easily print adopt me flyers with your pet’s basic info and photos, or use our Adopt Me Canva template.

Shelter Animals Count (SAC) 2022 Q3 report

Understanding nationwide trends and taking advantage of statistical forecasts can help you prepare to better handle animals in your community. Shelter Animals Count (SAC) released the Q3 report from 2022, with data from the Intake and Outcome Database and the Community Services Database. SAC says “There are 7.3% more animals entering shelters than leaving so far this year, up from 6% in the Q2 report (Jan-Jun). While this is forecasted to improve slightly by the end of the year at 5%, this is still the largest gap in the past 4 years.”
